 In 1986, Horst, along with Anne Bennent, won the OE Hasse Prize for Best Newcomer of the Year and became known to a wider audience for his role as Sascha in the television series Das Erbe der Guldenburgs. In 1996, he received the Adolf Grimme Prize for his role in Balko, along with Dieter Pfaff and Ludger Pistor. He has appeared in international productions such as The Abduction of Achille Lauro with Burt Lancaster in 1990 and The Cement Garden in 1993, and also works in the theater.
